How to Keep Your Relationship Thriving When Dealing with Work Related Stress

Being diligent towards your job and keeping your relationship in good standing can be tough to do a lot of the time.  There are some aspects of the job that you do and the stress that the job puts on your life that you must look into.  We do not want our relationship to fall into oblivion when we can do something about how we handle stress from work and our relationships with our loved ones.

You must find a way to leave your work at work.   Separating your work life from your home life is very crucial and must be a decision you make in your mind.  You do not have to always be doing 20 different things at once in order to get ahead in this world.   You must make time for the things that you love as well as your family.   Find a way to leave your work where it belongs, at work, in order to spend quality time with your family.

Find a way to get the stress of a bad day at work out before you spend time with your loved ones.   Finding a way to release this stress is important to your relationships as no one likes to be caught up in discussing and harping on problems you have had at work.   Doing something like writing down all the things that have happened in the day that you disliked or a list of all the bad feelings you had during the day will help you let go of those feelings.   At least start off by writing down the one bad thing that you are hung up on and make sure to think about it as you are writing it down.   Let out all your thoughts about this and then take the piece of paper that you have written this on and just throw it away.   Your thoughts about that subject will be safe with that paper for the time being.   Now you can interact with your loved ones without the negative thoughts you were carrying around.

Another way to get rid of the negative feelings you have after a hard day of work is to go do something that gets your blood pumping.   Playing in a recreational or competitive league, running a couple of miles or even going to the gym will help release all of those negative thoughts out of your head and you body will benefit from it as well.   When you finish exercising you can return to those that you are looking to spend time with and both of you can mutually enjoy each others company, especially now that the stress of the day is no longer with you.
